Sacramental Register 4.0 Download Instructions
This page was updated on 17 June 2005
 |
All updates for Sacramental Register software
are delivered by means of downloads from the www.rpinet.com website. |
1. If you have already downloaded the demo of Sacramental Register,
you do not need to repeat the download. Just check to see that your demo
was the latest version. Here is how you check — with the Sacramental Register
demo running, click on the Help menu and select About Sacramental Register.
In the box that displays, you should see Version 4.0 (Field Update 4.03
04/25/05). If you see that reference, then you do not need to repeat the
download. Simply enter your customer key when you next launch the demo
to change it from a demo to the full program, and skip the rest of these
steps.
2. If you have not yet downloaded the demo, use "My Computer," Windows
Explorer, or a comparable tool to find or create an empty folder into which
you can download the demo.
3. Connect to the internet and surf to www.rpinet.com/products/sacrg4.html.
Scroll down to where it says to click to download a demo of Sacramental
Register 4.0. Click on the link and follow the instructions so that you
download a copy of the updated demo. Save the download in an otherwise
empty folder, preferably not on the desktop.
4. Once the download is complete, Start | Run | Browse to the
folder you made in step 2, and select the downloaded file, which should
have the name SR4Demo.exe. Run this file.
5. Step 4 unpacks several files for an installation kit and then
automatically launches the installation process. Follow the screens along
to install the updated demo.
6. Once installation is complete, it places an icon on your desktop
for the Sacramental Register program. Double click on the program icon
to launch the program. If you are downloading as a purchaser, enter the
customer key when prompted for it, and then enter the parish name and address.
Do this carefully, because this is the information that displays on the
printed certificates. If you are using the program as a demo, then don't
enter anything as a customer key. The program will permit you to enter
in a demo mode, which restricts file access and prints all certificates
with a fictitious parish name.
7. With Sacramental Register running, go to the Help menu, and
select About Sacramental Register. In the box that opens, you should see
Version 4.0 (Field Update 4.03 04/25/05).
8. With Sacramental Register running, go to the File menu, and
select Open Existing Files. In the open dialog that appears, browse to
the folder where the program is installed. Ordinarily that would be C:\Resource
Publications, Inc.\Sacramental Register\4.0\ where you will find a demonstration
data file named zzzzzzz0.adt. Select it and click open. The next time you
launch
SacReg, this file name and path will appear at the bottom of the file menu.
If you decide to use Sacramental Register, you will make your own data
file, but this demonstration file permits you to search for people, add
some data, print some certificates, and generally get a sense for how it
works.
9. After using the Sacramental Register for a test drive, if you wish
to purchase the customer key, you can do so at www.rpinet.com/products/sacrg4.html.
