Young people need to talk about their problems with caring adults,
but getting them to do so is not easy. What teen wants to admit problems
with the law, pressure to have sex, or betrayal by friends and family?
However, there is a proven technique that provides them with a safe and
comfortable environment for exploring issues that trouble them. By playing
parts in dramatic sketches, they and their peers can explore all sorts
of touchy situations. Then, with the guidance of a discussion leader, they
can talk about what is bothering them, hear other points of view and explore
safe and appropriate solutions. Tackling Tough Choices is a collection
of dozens of photocopiable skits that present compelling problems and dilemmas
faced by young people everywhere.
